Evesham River Festival 2008
The annual event is the most spectacular event in the Town of Evesham's events calendar and plans are well underway for this year's festival.
And the best of all it's FREE!
The theme this year is Horror Movies, just in case you didn't know! That means there is loads of scope to let your imagination run riot and we hope this themed site also gives you some inspiration.
Lets make it the scariest event so far; only joking, it's an event for the whole family, even if your name's not Adams.
Boats taking part are moored three or four abreast on Workman Gardens and are decorated with bunting and balloons for the 'best dressed' category in the competition or with innovative creations for the 'best themed' category.
The boat handling competition is always very competitive and good fun.
On the river bank we have trade stands, food stands, pig roast and entertainment for all the family.
This year we have a Blues Brothers Tribute Band and The Bucket Band - who knows what they get up to then!
The highlight, of course, is the Illuminated Boat Parade after dark on Saturday night - bigger and better every year and lots of lovely prizes, but don’t be deterred if you don’t have lots of lights - its lots of illuminated boats we want, no matter how big or small the number of lights, so we hope you’ll enter.
This is split into the 2 categories – one where lighting follows the theme of the Rally, and a general category – 2 chances to win!
And, of course MORE great prizes!!
Once again, there will be a magnificent display of Fireworks courtesy of Evesham Town Council to finish off a great day - but do take care of your pets.
A new addition this year is a BOAT JUMBLE on Sunday morning in the marquee.

Boaters, join the rally!
For the participating boaters only, we have a (free) Welcome Party in the marquee on the Friday evening where old friends can meet up and have a great social evening before the serious events of the next day.
The highlight of the event is always the Illuminated Boat Parade on the Saturday evening which we truly believe is one of the best in the country! Around 20-30 vessels take to the river and cruise up and down with magnificent lighting displays. This event is so popular that those 'in the know' bring their deck chairs down at 6pm and book their spots on the riverbank so that they get a good view!
The parade is followed by a fantastic firework display to provide a fitting finale to a great day!

In The Marquee
The marquee will be open until 10pm and inside we have a variety of craft stands.
Event Highlights
The official opening will be 12 noon on Saturday. Moorings will be available from Friday lunchtime but these are pre-allocated so the earlier you apply the better.
Mike Colburn, our Harbour Master will be on hand to direct you to your mooring - please follow his instructions and that way we’ll fit all the boats in!
We are having our usual boat handling competitions - please don’t be shy of entering – it’s a fun event and is not nearly as difficult as you imagine.
On the riverbank we have entertainment, the PIG ROAST, the Real Ale Tent (courtesy of the Fleece Inn) and trade and craft stands in the marquee and gardens, plus all the usual attractions.

We have confirmation of the return again this year of the Lancaster Bomber Fly Past during the festival, a site not to be missed. 
Magic Martin
The master of magic will be in attendance with non stop magic and Punch and Judy show.
